In this series, we've been talking about how to use social media to its fullest potential to create connection opportunities for you and your business. Check out our previous blog where we discuss the value of Facebook for your business (yes, Facebook).
Instagram: Time for a little fun
Think Instagram is not for business posting? Think again.
Instagram is a mobile-based photos/graphics-only platform which lends itself really well to showcasing your visuals, especially if your company is looking for brand reach, releasing a new product/service or even trying to attract top talent.
A frequent practice on Instagram includes posting multiple #hashtags and tagging other accounts so that your post is seen by them. When you click on a hashtag in Instagram you see recent posts, and this will bring your account to the attention of people who have shared interests. It's important to use hashtags that are relevant to your company and industry.
What to post? Events you attend or host, partners, new products, awards, community activities, the office birthday cake—just be creative and have fun with this lighthearted platform.
Here are some companies doing it right: Contour Data Solutions, Continuum Managed Services, and Randstad USA
Bottom line? Always remember to focus on the social media platform(s) where your target audience lives. By no means do you have to start with multiple platforms. Begin with one or two and post consistently. That will give you more returns than engaging on more platforms in a more shallow way.
Here's a tip: Social media posts with visuals get 75% more views. Pablo by Buffer is a web app that lets anyone make great social graphics, without a lot of effort. It has a free forever limited subscription. Give it a try!
